Mrs. Betty Jean Hayes who resided in Ingham Mills, NY passed away on November 13, 2021 at the Alpine Nursing Home. She was born December 26, 1928 in the Town of Manheim, NY, the daughter of Hezekiah and Gertrude (Snell) Eaker. She was educated in a rural school in Ingham Mills and graduated from Dolgeville High School in the class of 1946. Her marriage to Alfred E. Hayes took place July 21, 1973 in the Salem United Methodist Church, East Stone Arabia, NY by the Rev. Robert Jewell then the pastor at that time. She was a faithful member of the Ingham Mills American Baptist Church as was her husband until his death on February 13, 1977. She was emplyed by the Dalson Shoe Company and most of her life employed by stores in Little Falls. She was employed by M. Laurie and Co. as a salesclerk in sportswear as well as being a buyer. She also worked ay Neisner and McCrory Dept. stores as a clerk and cashier until her retirement due to health, in October 1986. She is survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved very much. She was pre-deceased by her brother Leslie; five sisters; Blanche Tripp, Cora Hayes, Alma Montana, Margery Holmberg, Phyllis Marie Eaker and Eleanor Johnson; Nephew Dean Montana A graveside service will be held on November 17, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills, NY.
