Ciel Christiana passed away September 24, 2009 after a long illness. Born on June 2, 1940 and raised in Little Falls, NY, she was the only child of the late Harold and Louise Christiana. She attended Syracuse University and graduated from the University of Akron. Before retiring she enjoyed her career as a journalist around the country with the Roswell Daily Record, the Associated Press, the Observer-Dispatch, Gannett/USA Week-End and as a freelance writer in Ohio. Prior to her journalism career she worked with General Electric, Mohawk Valley Community College, the American Cancer Society, and the Girl Scouts of America. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Lonon Arnold (Scott Arnold) and Michael Lonon (Kristina Hile Lonon), and four grandchildren. A funeral mass was held on October 2, 2009, in Akron, Ohio. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 16, 2009, at Rural Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 4904 Quick Rd. Peninsula, OH 44264. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
