Mrs. Claire Farnum, 97, of Stratford, NY, died on December 31, 2025, at Nathan Littauer Hospital following a short illness.
Claire was born on April 24, 1928, in Jamaica, NY, the daughter of Charles and Phoebe Barth Farnum.
She was educated at Berlin Schools.
Most recently, she worked as a keyboard assembler at Coleco in Gloversville, NY. Before that, she worked for Bob Terrello Construction as a carpenter for many years. She also worked for Keybank, Perkins/Gray Insulation and drywall, and Ingrahams (CVS inventory), with her granddaughter, Brenda Johnson.
She lived the majority of her life in Stratford, NY.
Claire was a Jehovah's Witness, attending the Kingdom Hall of Dolgeville, NY.
She also enjoyed painting, baking, garagsaling, and adventures with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ford E. Perkins; her son Leigh Perkins and Mark Perkins; and her brothers Charles, and Peter Farnum.
Survivors include her son Ray Perkins, of Little Falls, NY, daughter Dorothy Perkins, of Stratford, NY, and her son David (Sabrina) Perkins, of Stratford, NY; grandchildren Brenda (Greg) Johnson, , Alison Gray (Apollo Edick), Tasha Cooney, Heather (Nate) Carpenter, Ford Perkins and his fiance Chloe, as well as her son Aiden, Scott Perkins, Micah Perkins, Liviah Perkins, Eric Zimmerman, Sean Perkins, and Corina Perkins; Great-Grandchildren, Kaleb, Remmington, and Pheobe; nieces Bonita and Bob Machnick, June Farnum, Peggy; nephews, Charles Farnum; special friends Clarence Gray, Kevin VanHoosen and Tony Pesce; as well as cousins.
Cremation services are being entrusted to Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Little Falls, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. A celebration of life will take place after the funeral at the Stone Jug until 10:00PM
A Memorial service will be held on January 21st, 2026, at 7:00 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 679 Brockett Rd, Dolgeville, NY 13329.
