Obituary

Mrs. Deanna M. Crofoot, 85, of Little Falls, NY, passed away on December 23, 2025, at Bassett Healthcare of Cooperstown following a brief illness.


She was born in Utica, NY, on October 10th, 1940, the daughter of Gordon Smith and Rose Flemming Smith.


Deanna graduated from Oriskany High School, class of 1958, and later became a CNA in the late 1990s.


She had worked with her husband at their sporting goods and awards shop for over 51 years. She also worked as a CNA starting at VanAllen Nursing Home in Little Falls, NY, and what is now known as The Grand in Iliion, which, at the time she worked there, was known as the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home.


Most of her life, she lived in the Mohawk Valley, with three years being spent in Detroit.


Deanna was a member of the Emanuel Episcopal church of Little Falls, was a member of the Eastern Star of Iliion, and had served as past Matron. She was also an active member of the Salisbury Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.


On July 5, 1958, in Oriskany, NY, she married her husband, Henry Crofoot. Together, they celebrated 67 years of marriage.


She was predeceased by her son, David Crofoot; sister Nancy; and brother Larry.


Survivors include her husband, Henry Crofoot; son Howard and his wife Katherine Crofoot; sister Bonnie Griffin; grandson Henry and his wife Rebecca Crofoot; great granddaughter Isabella; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Services will be private and at the convenience of the family, and are entrusted to Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.
