Obituary

Mrs. Debra K. Darrow, 64, of State Highway 5s, Fort Plain, New York passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Mary's Healthcare of Amsterdam, following a brief illness. Born on December 2, 1956 in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of Gale Lynn McMurray and Mona Hess Root, both of whom predeceased her. She attended Strasburg High School and had been a resident of the Fort Plain area for over 30 years. Mrs. Darrow worked for Beech-Nut in Canajoharie and Amsterdam as a cook for over 30 years. She loved going to Myrtle Beach and Ohio. She enjoyed helping others which included putting on free Christmas Dinners at the St. Johnsville Community House for the past 5-6 years and helping with benefits for cancer patients. On August 24, 1991 at Indian Castle Church, Debra was married to Henry Darrow. In addition to her parents her sister, Diana Meese; brother, Johnny McMurray; and nephew, Jeffrey Mann also predeceased her. Mrs. Darrow is survived by her husband, Henry Darrow; children, William Smith, David (Amanda) Smith, Lisa Smith, Chad Cook, and his wife, Deanna; grandchildren, Alex, Andrew, Ariel, Kelcie, Tyler, Sierra, Haley, Sage, Ashley, Kendra, Ketia, Max, Arianna, Sophia, Mason, Emma; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Jayce, Braylee, Leo; siblings, Kathy, Nancy, Mark, Tim, Jimmy, Mike, and Janet. A closing prayer will be said at 7:00PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 29th from 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home. A celebration of Debra's life will be held in the spring. We ask that anyone attending calling hours please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Debra K.
