Harvey
Feldmeier
Nov 29, 1943 — Mar 2, 2026
Harvey Feldmeier, age 82, died on Monday, March 2, 2026, in New York City. He was born in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, on November 29, 1943, to Allan L. Feldmeier and Ersula Hunt Feldmeier of Little Falls, both of whom predeceased him.
He lived most of his childhood on military bases, as his father served as a U.S. Marine Corps Aviator. After attending The Taft School, Watertown, Connecticut, he began his own military career as an Army Enlistee.
Eventually, he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, a rank held by his father and now his own son. He earned degrees from Columbia University and Fordham Law School.
Harvey cherished his family. He married Arlene Garbett on August 4, 1974, who survives him. They maintained homes in Little Falls and in New York City. In addition, he leaves their son Robert (Ester), their daughter Caroline, their daughter Elizabeth (Mark), and four grandchildren. A brother, Edward Feldmeier (Joan), also survives. A sister, Jane Feldmeier, and a brother, Richard Feldmeier, predeceased him.
Harvey spent his professional life as a Lawyer, serving as a Senior Assistant New York State Attorney General before appointment as a U.S. Administrative Law Judge for the Social Security Administration. He and Arlene then formed Feldmeier & Feldmeier, a Social Security disability law firm with offices in Little Falls and New York City.
On retirement, Harvey enjoyed attending classes at Columbia University as a lifelong learner, meeting Army buddies for lunch, and relaxing with coffee and a newspaper at Stewart's.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Little Falls Youth and Family Center.
A graveside service will take place at a later date at the Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls, NY.
Arrangements are entrusted to Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.
