LITTLE FALLS – Henry A. Akins, 72 of E. Monroe Street, Little Falls passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Alpine Nursing and Rehab. Center, Little Falls where he had been a resident for the past several months. He was born on May 6, 1941 in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of the late Henry A. and Bertha M. (Gray) Akins. He was united in marriage to the former Betty Sue Willis on February 6, 1961 in Houston, TX. Mrs. Akins predeceased him on August 11, 2004. Mr. Akins was employed at onetime as a truck driver for Stanley Paving Co., Herkimer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching TV Westerns. Mr. Akins had resided in Brewerton, NY and Utica for several years before moving to Little Falls. He is survived by his sons; Robert Akins, Henry Boles, James Arthur Akins, Daryl Akins all Texas and Marvin Schelander, California, his daughters; Angel Hotaling and her husband Michael, Little Falls, Cynthia Schelander and Loretta Jubena both of Texas, a brother Robert Akins, Remsen, NY and a sister Gloria Lamere, Texas, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons Timothy Akins and Charles Rice and by a brother George Akins. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Utica, NY later in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY
