LITTLE FALLS - John H. Austin, Sr. 65 of 405 Gun Club Road, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at his residence. He was born on November 27, 1945 in Cooperstown the son of the late Frank J. and Geraldine (Baker) Austin. He was educated at Owen D. Young Schools, Van Hornesville. Mr. Austin was employed at onetime in the maintenance department of Little Falls Hospital. He is survived by two sons John H. Austin, Jr. and his companion Ruth Laventure, Little Falls and Raymond Austin, Dolgeville, a sister Margaret Farquhar and her husband Gary, Salisbury, four grandchildren Shawn Nichols, Justin Warner, Veronica Nichols and Corey Austin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son James Paul Austin in 1972 and by a brother Frank J. Austin Jr. in 1994. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 3:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. Interment will take place in Van Hornesville Cemetery later in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 1-3 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
