UTICA – June P. LaPoint, 92 passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Focus Rehab & Nursing center, Utica. She was born on August 19, 1921 in Little Falls, NY the daughter of the late Philo and Marguerite (Austin) Petrie. She was educated in Little Falls schools. On May 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to Joseph LaPoint in Scotia, NY. Mr. LaPoint predeceased her in 1961. Mrs. LaPoint resided in the Scotia area for many years prior to returning to the Mohawk Valley area. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Sallie & Peter Obman, Scotia, NY; her grandchildren Julie Mancini and her husband John Striffler, Scotia, NY and Eric Obman and his wife Virginia, Scotia, NY; great grandchildren John Mancini, Luke Mancini, Sydney Obman, Derek Obman, Maggie Obman and Kaylee Obman and by her sister Marguerite (Frances) Rizzi, Herkimer. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Petrie. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. Final interment will take place at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery, Saratoga, NY.
