Kenneth Decker, Sr., 81, of Sweethill Road, Dolgeville, NY, died on December 21, 2023, at the Nathan Littauer Hospital, with his loving wife by his side following a long illness.

Ken was born in Herkimer Co., NY on November 27, 1942, the son of Clarence and Gladys Chatterton Decker. He was educated at Stratford School.

Most recently he worked at Union Tool in Frankfort as a forklift operator until his retirement. After retirement he went on to become the dog catcher for Manheim, Sailsbury, Stratford, and Oppenheim.

He was a member of the Hilltop Fire Dept. for 45 years and served with them in the fire police. He enjoyed camping thought his life. When he was younger, he enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling.

On April 11, 1964, at the Dolgeville Methodist Church he married Sharon Youker.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, and son in law Frank Petkovsek IV.

Survivors include his wife, and children Tina Petkovsek and her fiancé Dan Edwards, Julia (Bill) Yerina, Kenneth Decker, Jr., and Cory and Fallon Decker; 6 grandchildren Brandon (Amanda) Burdick, Channing Burdick, Kali (Gene) Yerina, Nichole (Josh) Decker, Noah Decker, Dominic Decker; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will have a private service at their convenience at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home.

The burial will take place at Dolgeville Cemetery.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them at the Sailsbury Fire Dept for a celebration of life, on Wednesday 27th, 2023 starting at 2:00PM.
