Mrs. Margaret M. Nichols, 88, of Depot Road, Little Falls, New York died Monday, September 20, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 6, 1932 in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of William Congdon and Hazel Boardman Congdon. She was educated at Salisbury and Stratford Schools and was a lifetime area resident. Mrs. Nichols was a Lobby Hostess for over 28 years for the Indian Castle Rest Area. She was a former employee of Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls, NY. She was of Christian faith. Margaret enjoyed playing cards and bowling. On June 30, 1951 at The Methodist Parsonage in Herkimer, Margaret was married to Francis F. Nichols. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1979. Her brother, Daniel Congdon and sisters, Shirley Lewis, Elsie Looman, and Alice Guy also predeceased her. Mrs. Nichols is survived by her son, Bradley and Dale Nichols; daughters, Debra Coffin, Kathy and Dennis Reid, Priscilla and Robert Congdon; sisters, Madeline Randall, Joyce Hannahs; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; beloved dog, Grace; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 10:00AM at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 4:00-7:00PM. Burial will follow the funeral at Salisbury Rural Cemetery.
