Mildred E. Federico, born July 13, 1937, in Jordanville, New York, and who grew up on her parents' dairy farm, died on September 30, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family, as a wife and mother with steady work, faithful commitment, and the simple pleasures that brought her joy.

A graduate of Mohawk High School’s Class of 1956, Mildred carried with her the values of diligence and constancy throughout her life. On July 27, 1957, she married Anthony J. Federico at St. Joseph’s Church in Little Falls, beginning a marriage that would stand as a central blessing in her life. She was also a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Little Falls, New York, where her faith formed an enduring part of who she was.

Mildred owned and operated the Newsroom Store in Mohawk, New York. Through 14 years of service, she became a familiar and valued presence in the community, bringing care and dedication to her work each day until her retirement. Beyond her work, she found happiness in creative pursuits as an avid crafter and took pleasure in attending craft shows. She also enjoyed traveling with her camper, embracing the freedom and delight of the open road.

Above all, Mildred treasured her family. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Anthony J. Federico; her children, Mary and her husband, Edward Popiel, Laurie and her husband, William Unser, Thomas and his wife, Beverly Federico, She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Anthony Federico, Tracey and her husband Ben Skibinski, Sara and her husband Jim Foreman, James and his wife Vicki Fox, Christine and her husband Dakota Lynch Jared Popiel and Jessica Kelsey; great grandchildren Alexa, Colton, River, Noah, Patty, and Lilah. Her memory is further cherished by her nephew, Billy Hoke and niece Rhenell Berdanier, and by all who were privileged to share in her life and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Hoke and Ruth Locke Hoke, and her brother, David Hoke.

Burial will take place privately at Fairview Cemetery in Graysville, New York. As her family and friends gather to remember her, they will carry forward the example of a woman whose life was defined by loyalty, warmth, and quiet strength. Mildred’s memory will remain a lasting comfort to those who knew and loved her.
