Obituary

SALISBURY - Royce M. Lanphere 74 of 138 Plant Road, Salisbury Center passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in the woods in the Town of Salisbury where he enjoyed being the most. He was born on February 8, 1935 in Salisbury Center the son of the late Martin and Mildred (Seeley) Lanphere. He was educated in Salisbury Center and Dolgeville Schools. Mr. Lanphere was a self employed logger all of his life in the Town of Salisbury. He was also a caretaker at the Curtiss Cemetery, Town of Salisbury for many years. Besides his love for the woods he enjoyed spending his time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son Leonard Lanphere, Little Falls, and his daughter Darlene Mykel and her husband Leslie, Salisbury, a brother David Lanphere, Salisbury, a sister Laura Butler, Ithaca, 8 grandchildren Royce Lanphere, Michael Lanphere, Scott Lanphere, Samantha Lanphere, Kendra Carpenter and her husband Michael, Charlene Mykel, Devon Mykel and Steven Mykel, a great grandson Landon Carpenter, his companion Mary Darling, Ilion and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers Kenneth, Percy and Arthur Lanphere, 2 sisters Doris Broat and Irene Mowers. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 5-8 pm. Graveside services will be held in Curtiss Cemetery, Town of Salisbury in the spring.
