Simone Ann Oakley, 89, of Salisbury, NY, passed away in the early evening, with her family by her side on September 28, 2026, at Valley Health Services, Inc. 

Mrs. Oakley was born on May 29, 1937, in the town of Palatine, the daughter of the late Gordon Carpenter and Lelah Dillenbeck Carpenter.

She graduated from Fort Plain High School and then attended Albany Business College. 

While working, she held several different jobs over the years, often working multiple jobs at once. The last job she started was at Mohawk Minden Insurance, which went on to become Fulmont Mutual Insurance, until she retired. 

She lived most of her life in the local area, was of Lutheran faith, enjoyed crafting and reading, and previously served on the Indian Castle Cemetery Board. 

On August 11, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Palatine Bridge, NY, she married Stanley A. Oakley; he passed away in 1974.

She was also predeceased by her parents, her brother Gordon Carpenter, Jr., sisters Kathryn Gibbs and Beverly Christman, and her grandson Wayne Darrach. 

Survivors include her daughters, Jodi and her husband, Jeff Burton, Gordon and his wife Diane Oakley,  and Kimberly and her husband Bernie Smith;6 grandchildren; a special niece Kathy Sweeney; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

An 11:00 AM funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026,  at Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365.
